Turbocharger Air Pump
U.S. Patent #6155801
The patented "Turbocharger" operates quieter than other air pump assemblies without the extensive use of sound insulating
materials. Other air pumps use foam as a sound insulator. The use of foam will obstruct the airflow reducing the efficiency
of the motor. Other companies are forced to use larger motors to compensate for the loss of airflow when using foam.
Larger motors cost consumers more operating dollars without increased airflow.
Unlike other spa manufacturers and spa distributors, at Regal Spas we manufacture our own spa air pumps. Instead of using foam
for sound insulation, our invention uses specially designed ribbed elastomeric gaskets to snugly mount
the air pump and motor unit inside a bucket-shaped intake housing. These gaskets significantly dampen noise as well as the
vibration from the electric motor. In addition, the outlet sidewall creates a double wall thickness around the electric
motor further reducing noise.
Our "Turbocharger" is designed to be inexpensive to operate and extremely quiet.
